Simon Dalby

Simon Dalby is Professor Emeritus at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario, a Fellow at the Balsillie School of International Affairs and a Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation. He was educated at Trinity College Dublin and at the University of Victoria, and holds a doctoral degree from Simon Fraser University. Before joining Wilfrid Laurier University, he was a professor of geography, environmental studies, and political economy at Carleton University.

His books include Pyromania: Fire and Geopolitics in a Climate Disrupted World (Agenda 2024), Rethinking Environmental Security (Edward Elgar 2022), Anthropocene Geopolitics: Globalization, Security, Sustainability (University of Ottawa Press, 2020) and Security and Environmental Change (Polity, 2009).
